Built in 1903, with a superb Neo Federal style brick façade commissioned in 1930 as a wedding present for Charles C. Auchincloss, lawyer, stockbroker, and book collector, this 6 story townhouse, plus English basement, is one of the most distinguished on the most coveted block in the East 70’s. The townhouse, with delicate fan windows and floor to ceiling windows with beautiful Juliet balconies, has approximately 10,000 sq ft, 16 rooms, 11’ ceilings, 9 bedrooms, 9 baths, 3 powder rooms, staff room, 8 fireplaces, 3 terraces, and an elevator.
